In politics, credibility is everything. And in Tamale Central, there should no longer be any doubt about the roots of Alhaji Alhassan Mbalba, former NDC UK and Ireland Chapter Chairman and a candidate for our parliamentary primaries.
For those who still wonder whether he hails from Tamale Central, the facts are clear. Alhaji Mbalba was born in this constituency. His late father, Alhaji Alhassan Mbalba, was enskinned as the Tamale Wurishe Naa Kpanalan of Dagbandabbi Fong in June 2021. Pictures and records of this ceremony stand as proof of his heritage and legitimacy. His lineage is not in question. It is deeply tied to the soil, traditions, and people of Tamale Central.

This heritage matters because it shows that Alhaji Mbalba is not just connected by birth but also by culture, history, and service. He carries forward a family legacy of leadership, humility, and respect. These are the very values that Tamale Central holds dear.
Yet heritage alone is not enough. What makes Alhaji Mbalba the right choice is that he combines his strong roots with experience and vision. He has already proven himself as a unifying NDC leader abroad, mobilising resources, building networks, and giving the diaspora a strong voice in the party. Now, he is bringing that same energy home to Tamale Central. His goal is simple: to blend global ideas with local realities in order to serve the people.
A Bold Employment and Skills Agenda
Alhaji Mbalba has a clear plan to create opportunities for all. He believes no one should be left behind, whether they are academically gifted, practically skilled, or seeking a new path.
- For those who excel academically, he will open his doors to support them in pursuing studies abroad, helping to build the next generation of professionals.
- For registered or qualified social workers, he will provide pathways to join Social Work England and practice in the United Kingdom, strengthening both their careers and the constituency’s international networks.
- For young people with practical talents, he envisions apprenticeship exchange programmes in Germany, where they can learn trades, gain experience, and return with skills that benefit Tamale Central.
This is not theory. These are workable initiatives backed by his international connections and professional background.
What a Social Worker in Leadership Can Deliver
As a social worker in children’s services, safeguarding team, Alhaji Mbalba understands people’s struggles not from speeches but from daily practice. He has worked to protect children at risk, support families in crisis, and fight for the welfare of the most vulnerable. This experience equips him with rare qualities for political leadership.
- He knows how to advocate for vulnerable families and ensure fair access to social welfare support.
- He understands the importance of youth empowerment projects that reduce unemployment and hopelessness.
- He recognises the need for community-based mental health and addiction services, giving young people alternatives to crime and despair.
- He can work with NGOs and development partners to bring resources into Tamale Central for education, housing, and social care.
- He is skilled at creating partnerships between local government and international bodies to attract investment and training opportunities.
These are not abstract promises. They are practical solutions that a safeguarding social worker, trained to solve problems and build bridges, can deliver for Tamale Central.
The Humble Temperament Tamale Deserves
Leadership is more than ideas. It is character. Alhaji Mbalba is known for his humility, calmness, and resilience even in challenging times.
- He listens before he speaks.
- He respects both grassroots members and elders.
- He has the temperament of a servant-leader, not a self-seeker.
- He will continue the good work that our Late MP Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed started, the light will continue.
In Tamale Central, where respect, culture, and humility are valued, this is not a small matter. It is the key to uniting the NDC family for victory.

The Call to Action
At a time when Tamale Central needs both authenticity and forward-thinking leadership, Alhaji Alhassan Mbalba stands out. He is a true son of the land. He is a servant of the people. And he is ready to bring dignity, opportunity, and unity to the constituency.
👉🏾 Let us rally behind Alhaji Alhassan Mbalba. For Tamale Central. For the NDC. For Ghana’s Resetting Agenda.
Forward ever, backward never. 🌹
