Greater Manchester, UK – A historic cultural milestone was marked over the weekend as Mr. Roland Tamakloe was enstooled as a chief in Greater Manchester, taking the revered stool name Togbi Kormi Tamakloe. The colorful event, rich with music, symbolism, and traditional Ewe rituals, drew dignitaries and cultural enthusiasts from across the globe, reinforcing the enduring strength of Ewe traditions within the diaspora.

The ceremony was performed by Togbi Adza  of Anloga ,a highly respected traditional leader based in London, who meticulously carried out all customary rites associated with the enstoolment. He was supported by Mamaga Adowodzi Fianor  ll of Tegbi, also based in London, alongside Mr. Francis Aweso, Chairman of the Manchester Ewe Group, and other members of the group. Their combined efforts ensured the process adhered to the highest standards of authenticity, preserving the sanctity of Ewe chieftaincy customs.

Guests were treated to vibrant drumming, captivating traditional dances, and deeply symbolic rituals that highlighted the rich cultural heritage of the Ewe people. The presence of prominent chiefs, queen mothers, and community leaders from different parts of the world underscored the significance of the occasion.

In his acceptance speech, Togbi Kormi Tamakloe expressed heartfelt gratitude to the elders, the Ewe community, and all attendees for their unwavering support. He pledged to champion unity, promote cultural preservation, and spearhead development initiatives both in the UK and in his homeland of Ghana.

This enstoolment not only signifies leadership but also serves as a powerful testament to the resilience and vibrancy of African traditions in today’s interconnected world.
